Instructions to Use

Jowar Cheela


  • Jowar Cheela Mix (as prepared above)
  • Water, as needed
  • Finely chopped vegetables (onions, tomatoes, green chilies, etc.)
  • Fresh coriander leaves, chopped
  • Oil or ghee for cooking


  1. In a bowl, take the jowar cheela mix. Gradually add water while stirring to make a smooth batter. Ensure there are no lumps.
  2. Add finely chopped vegetables and fresh coriander leaves to the batter. Mix well.
  3. Heat a griddle or a non-stick pan over medium heat. Grease it with a little oil or ghee.
  4. Pour a ladleful of the batter onto the hot griddle and spread it into a thin, round shape using the back of the ladle.
  5. Cook the cheela on medium heat until the edges start to lift and the bottom turns golden brown. Flip it and cook the other side until it's cooked through.
  6. Serve the jowar cheela hot with chutney, yogurt, or any preferred accompaniment.
