Ingredients

Activated Foxtail, Activated Little millet, Activated Barnyard millet, Activated kodo millet, Moong dal, cumin seeds, Black pepper, salt, Cold pressed sunflower oil, Curry leaves, Ginger, Asafoetida

Instructions to Use

  1. Take 1 cup of Instant Pongal Mix and add 4 cups of water. You can use 4 cups of water, or for a richer taste, use 2 cups of water and 2 cups of milk.
  2. Cook in a pressure cooker for 3–4 whistles or in a thick-bottomed pan on medium flame until soft and mushy.
  3. In a small pan, heat 1–2 tsp of ghee or oil. Add mustard seeds, curry leaves and chopped ginger if desired. Let them splutter and pour over the cooked pongal.
  4. Mix well and serve hot with chutney, sambar, or pickle.
