Ingredients

Coriander seeds, Red chilli, Jeera (Cumin seeds), Pepper, Naati toor dal, Channa dal, Fenugreek, Turmeric, Mustard, Salt, Dried curry leaves, Rice

Instructions to Use

Recipe – Traditional Sambar:

  • Cook ½ cup toor dal until soft and mash it.
  • In a pan, heat oil and sauté 1 chopped onion, 1 chopped tomato, and your choice of vegetables.
  • Add 2 tsp Homestyle Sambar Powder, salt, and a small ball of tamarind pulp.
  • Pour in cooked dal and 1½ cups water. Simmer for 10–15 minutes.
  • Temper mustard seeds, curry leaves, and dry red chilli in ghee. Add to sambar.
  • Serve hot with idli, dosa, rice, or millet pongal.
