Ingredients

Coriander seeds, Red chilli, Jeera (Cumin seeds), Pepper, Naati toor dal, Channa dal, Fenugreek, Turmeric, Mustard, Asfoetedia, Salt, Dried curry leaves

Instructions to Use

Simple Rasam Recipe (Serves 3–4)

  • Ingredients:
  • Tamarind – 1 tbsp paste (or small lemon-sized ball)
  • Tomato – 1, mashed or chopped
  • Rasam Masala – 2 tsp
  • Turmeric – 1/4 tsp
  • Salt – to taste
  • Water – 3 cups
  • Coriander Leaves – to garnish

For Tempering:

  • Ghee or oil – 1 tsp
  • Mustard Seeds – 1/2 tsp
  • Curry Leaves – few


Steps:

  1. Mix tamarind paste, tomato, salt, turmeric, and 1.5 cups of water. Boil for 5–6 minutes.
  2. Add Rasam Masala and 1.5 more cups of water. Simmer for 3–5 minutes. Don’t boil hard
  3. Heat ghee in a small pan. Add mustard seeds and curry leaves. Let them splutter and pour into rasam.
  4. Add chopped coriander and serve hot.
