Freshly Ground Red Rice Flour | Gluten Free | Soaked Flour High Fiber

Soaked Red Rice Flour :

Soaked red rice flour is derived from red rice, a whole-grain variety known for its reddish-brown outer husk, which contains anthocyanins—a powerful antioxidant. The process of soaking red rice involves immersing the grains in water to soften them and enhance their digestibility and nutrient bioavailability. After soaking, the grains are dried and ground into a fine powder. This flour has a nutty flavor and earthy aroma, making it a popular ingredient in traditional recipes like puttu, idiyappam, and pancakes. It is naturally gluten-free and packed with nutrients, offering a healthier alternative to refined white rice flour.

Soaked red rice flour is a flavorful, nutritious, and versatile ingredient that supports a healthy and balanced diet, making it an excellent choice for anyone looking to add wholesome grains to their meals.

Nutritional Powerhouse:

  • Rich in Fiber: Helps regulate digestion, improves gut health, and keeps you feeling fuller for longer.
  • Packed with Antioxidants: Anthocyanins in red rice combat oxidative stress, reduce inflammation, and promote overall health.
  • Good Source of Iron: Supports the production of red blood cells and helps prevent anemia.
  • High in Magnesium: Aids in nerve function, muscle relaxation, and heart health.

Instructions to Use

Red Rice Flour Roti Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup red rice flour
  • Water (approximately 1/2 to 3/4 cup, as needed)
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil or ghee for cooking

Instructions:

  • In a mixing bowl, add red rice flour and salt. Gradually add water while kneading to form a soft and pliable dough. The consistency should be similar to regular chapati or roti dough.
  • Allow the dough to rest for about 15-20 minutes. This resting period helps the flour absorb the moisture evenly.
  • Divide the dough into small portions, shaping them into round balls.
  • Take one portion of the dough and roll it out into a flat, round disc using a rolling pin. Use dry red rice flour for dusting to prevent sticking.
  • Heat a non-stick pan or griddle over medium heat. Place the rolled-out roti on the hot surface.
  • Once you see bubbles forming on the surface, flip the roti. Cook until both sides are lightly browned and cooked through.
  • Optionally, you can apply a little oil or ghee on the roti while cooking or after it's done. This adds flavor and helps keep the roti soft.
  • Serve the red rice flour rotis warm with your favorite curry, dal, or yogurt.
