Instructions to Use

 Kozhukattai - Dumplings Recipes Using Soaked Rice Flour


1️⃣ Pidi Kothakota (Savory Rice Dumplings)


  • Mix 1 cup-soaked rice flour with ½ cup hot water, salt, and ¼ tsp cumin seeds.
  • Add grated coconut and shape into small dumplings using your palm.
  • Steam for 10-12 minutes and serve with chutney.


2️⃣ Sweet Jaggery Kozhukattai


  • Heat ½ cup jaggery with ¼ cup water until melted.
  • Add 1 cup soaked rice flour, ¼ cup grated coconut, and a pinch of cardamom powder.
  • Mix, shape into small balls, and steam for 10 minutes.


3️⃣ Ammini Kozhukattai (Mini Spiced Dumplings)


  • Prepare small steamed rice balls (like in sweet kozhukattai).
  • Toss in a tempering of mustard seeds, curry leaves, red chilies, and grated coconut.


4️⃣ Upma Kozhukattai


  • Cook 1 cup soaked rice flour with 2 cups water, salt, curry leaves, green chilies, and grated coconut.
  • Once thick, shape into dumplings and steam for 8-10 minutes.
