Instructions to Use

Sprouted Black Urad Dal Dosa (No fermentation needed)


Ingredients:

  • Sprouted Black Urad Dal Flour – 1 cup
  • Rice flour or any millet flour – ½ cup (for crispness)
  • Water – 1.5 to 2 cups (adjust to make pourable batter)
  • Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
  • Ginger – 1 tsp (grated)
  • Green chilies – 1 (finely chopped, optional)
  • Salt – to taste
  • Chopped coriander leaves – a handful
  • Optional: finely chopped onions, grated carrots, or spinach

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine sprouted urad dal flour, rice/millet flour, cumin, salt, and other optional veggies.
  2. Add water gradually and whisk into a smooth, lump-free batter with a dosa-like consistency.
  3. Rest the batter for 10–15 minutes (not mandatory, but helps flavors blend).
  4. Heat a tawa or non-stick pan. Pour a ladleful of batter and spread gently into a thin circle.
  5. Drizzle ghee or cold-pressed oil on the edges. Cook on medium heat till golden and crisp.
  6. Flip (if needed) and cook for another minute. Serve hot.
